Position Overview

The Solar Inspection Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that our customers' solar systems are fully operational. This role involves organizing, executing, and documenting all necessary inspections for installed solar projects, in accordance with local regulations. These inspections are essential for achieving successful project approvals and milestones, enabling installations to function effectively. As we work towards a sustainable future, our Inspection Specialists have the unique opportunity to engage directly with customers and witness the impact of their contributions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct solar, electrical, or construction inspections as scheduled.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain a well-organized calendar, clearly indicating existing appointments and availability for additional inspections.
  • Foster a positive customer experience by discussing project timelines following inspection approvals and addressing any concerns internally.
  • Utilize software systems to document, track, and update project-specific tasks and deliverables.
  • Address minor unforeseen tasks such as painting conduit or applying necessary labels and stickers.
Qualifications for Success
  • Experience in photovoltaic design, installation, or electrical work (including blueprint reading, tool usage, wiring testing, and knowledge of the National Electric Code) is advantageous, with at least one year of field construction experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record, with the ability to pass a driving background check.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures, including the ability to identify and report safety hazards, and encourage safe practices among peers.
  • A motivated team player with strong organizational and time-management skills, dedicated to achieving shared goals.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding customer service and interact professionally with clients.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on rooftops with varying angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, climbing, and balancing.
  • Capability to transport materials and equipment for job tasks (up to 50 pounds regularly).
  • Ability to maintain balance on roofs and other elevated surfaces.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, necessitating kneeling and crouching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision, such as grasping and pinching.
  • Ability to work safely with equipment such as ladders and personal protective gear.
  • Ability to hear verbal instructions and warnings.
  • Capability to walk on rafters and roof materials without causing damage.
  • Ability to work in both bright sunlight and low-light conditions.
