Position Overview

Simpson University's Science & Mathematics Department is actively seeking qualified candidates to expand its adjunct instructor pool for the academic year. We are currently inviting applications for instructors capable of teaching various Mathematics courses. Please be aware that securing a position for one semester does not guarantee future appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in Algebra, Precalculus, or Statistics.
  • Conduct classes in-person at the Redding campus and/or deliver online courses.
  • Utilize Canvas for effective course management and content delivery.
  • Engage with a diverse student population.
  • Exhibit a strong Christian faith rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Support the statement of faith of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Important Note: This position does not offer a remote work option; applicants must be able to fulfill the role in person.

General Expectations:

  • Possess a personal relationship with Jesus and a vibrant Christian faith, with the ability to share faith and engage in discussions about Christ.
  • Demonstrate the values of Simpson University in all professional activities.
  • Adhere to the Simpson University Lifestyle Policy as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding information, data, and records, exercising tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills in all job-related duties.
  • Show effective organizational and communication skills in the performance of responsibilities.
  • Supervise employees in accordance with Simpson University policies and procedures (for supervisory roles).
  • Assist with the needs of other departments within the university area as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field is required.
