Position Overview:
The CHPS is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Space Management and Event Logistics Officer. This position will act as the Building Manager for the college, coordinating with facilities management and overseeing work orders and construction projects. The role includes managing emergency protocols and organizing events within the college, ensuring all logistical aspects are handled efficiently. Additionally, this position will oversee space utilization, property management, and key control, as well as assist academic leaders in developing the master class schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the academic master schedule for the college, managing requests for space for classes, meetings, and events.
- Coordinate logistics for college events, including room reservations, purchasing supplies, setup, and all related activities.
- Update course information in the PeopleSoft system and assist department administrators with registration issues, providing training on scheduling applications.
- Serve as the Building Manager, liaising with facilities, managing work orders, and performing physical tasks related to space management.
- Act as the property custodian for college assets, overseeing space, property, and key management.
- Ensure safety and security for designated buildings, maintaining access control and developing emergency safety plans.
- Interpret university policies and create procedures for space allocation, mediating scheduling conflicts with college leaders.
- Represent the college on committees related to academic scheduling and facilities management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing building projects and coordinating classroom spaces.
- Experience in academic scheduling and room reservation processes.
- Experience in logistics management for events.
