Position Overview:
As an Interdisciplinary Engineer within the Department of Defense, you will engage in a variety of critical assignments that contribute to national security and technological advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Project Management:**
- Plan, coordinate, and execute complex projects.
2. **Evaluation and Analysis:**
- Assess and interpret license applications and commodity jurisdiction requests, developing innovative methods to analyze and present authoritative information.
3. **Technology Export Coordination:**
- Lead major analytical initiatives to resolve significant technology export challenges.
4. **Representation:**
- Actively participate in and negotiate the Department of Defense's position in various conferences and meetings concerning critical military technologies.

Conditions of Employment:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Males born after a specific date must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- Participation in the direct deposit program is required.
- Candidates selected for designated positions may undergo drug testing prior to appointment and are subject to random testing thereafter.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- **Educational Background:**
- A degree in Engineering is required, with programs accredited by ABET or equivalent coursework in relevant engineering sciences.
- **Experience:**
- A combination of education and experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices.

Specialized Experience:
- For GS-14 level applicants, at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 is required, focusing on advanced engineering theories and methods.
- For GS-15 level applicants, one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-14 is necessary, emphasizing engineering or scientific work related to defense technologies.

Competencies:
- Proficiency in Engineering and Technology, Technical Competence, and Technology Management is crucial for success in this role.

- This position may require a probationary period.
- Telework availability will depend on mission requirements.
- Moving costs may be covered, and recruitment incentives may be authorized.
- Salary includes a Cost-of-Living Allowance (COLA), subject to change.
