The VNS Health Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive two-year training program designed to equip recent RN graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in home care. Our program combines in-depth classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, guided by experienced nurse educators and mentors.

What You Will Do
  • Participate in classroom learning activities focused on critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and care planning
  • Shadow experienced RNs to gain field experience and receive feedback
  • Practice in the community with a preceptor as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Deliver personalized nursing and care management to patients in their homes or care facilities
  • Evaluate evolving patient needs and respond with plan of care adjustments
Qualifications
  • Recently received RN license
  • Degree in Nursing from an approved program required
  • No prior work experience in nursing required
  • Ability to walk up and down steps to access patient residences
