Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at North Carolina Retina Associates. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our physicians and staff in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by gathering chief complaints and PHI, and transferring information into the EMR system.
  • Check visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and visual field, and assess pupils for equality and reaction prior to dilation.
  • Administer drops as required and prepare patients for scheduled procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, visitors, physicians, administrators, leadership, and coworkers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to practice locations.
  • Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data.
  • Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology.
