Research Associate I/II

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate I/II, where you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of research conducted at Georgia Tech. As a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing research applications to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as Georgia Tech's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regulatory review and analysis of research applications to ensure consistency, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations and GT IRB policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and consultation to investigators regarding the interpretation of federal regulations, laws, and guidance related to human subjects' protection and GT IRB policies and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate level of review for IRB research submissions and conduct exempt and expedited reviews.
- Advise the research community about human subjects' protection issues and institutional policies.
- Assist in the management of the electronic management system, maintaining the database to track and process all active, pending, and terminated protocols/proposals.
- Attend IRB full committee meetings, contribute to the development of meeting agendas, minutes, and stipulations letters.
This position is an open rank announcement, and the final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Research Faculty ranks as outlined in section 3.2.1 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook.
Research Associate I: Bachelor's Degree
Research Associate II: Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or Master's degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or Doctoral degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years or more of IRB research compliance experience in a hospital, university, or other research setting, CIP certification, and Master's degree.
