Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavior Therapist to join our team. As a Behavior Therapist, you will work one-on-one with clients, implementing behavior reduction and acquisition treatment plans developed by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). You will also accompany clients on community and social outings, collaborate with parents, schools, and other therapists, and collect, record, and summarize data.
Responsibilities:
- Client Care: Provide direct 1-to-1 care with clients ages 18 months to adult, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Treatment Planning: Implement behavior reduction and acquisition treatment plans developed by our BCBAs, ensuring seamless execution and effective outcomes.
- Community Integration: Accompany clients on community and social outings, fostering social skills and promoting community inclusion.
- Collaboration: Work closely with parents, schools, and other therapists to ensure comprehensive support and coordination of care.
- Data Collection: Collect, record, and summarize data to inform treatment planning and evaluate progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with Autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Compassion and Caring: Demonstrate a compassionate and caring demeanor, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and communicate with clients and their families.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment (up to 50 pounds), assume and maintain various postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods, and sit on the floor or stand for extended periods.
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different service locations.
- Education: Minimum: High School Graduate or GED; Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related fields.
