Position Overview:

Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidates will possess a degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, complemented by substantial experience in systems architecture, both analog and digital circuit design, as well as software development and programming.

Experience in areas such as data acquisition systems, wireless communication, robotics integration, signal processing, machine learning, mechanical engineering, or product innovation is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
This role will involve active participation in SIA's Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) & Instrumentation division, focusing on the creation of inspection and monitoring technologies that assist our field teams and clientele. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting internal initiatives related to instrumentation and monitoring technology development.
  • Acquiring and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and advanced NDE and monitoring technologies.
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers and NDE specialists to enhance inspection tools and methodologies.
  • Acting as a consultant for both internal and external stakeholders regarding instrumentation and monitoring solutions.
  • Providing training to colleagues and clients on the implementation and usage of instrumentation and monitoring technologies.
  • Offering field support as necessary for the deployment of instrumentation and monitoring solutions.
  • Representing SIA in client interactions, ensuring alignment with corporate values.
  • Exhibiting strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Demonstrating effective project management skills.
  • Coordinating and executing project assignments while ensuring service quality.
  • Performing additional related duties as required.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel for client engagements, meetings, and on-site evaluations is necessary (approximately 15%).

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience. Advanced degrees are welcomed.

Preferred Qualifications:
A four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline from an accredited institution, with over 5 years of experience in developing and applying electronic technologies, particularly in inspection and monitoring contexts. Familiarity with hardware/software development and interfacing is advantageous.

Proficiency in programming and database management, particularly in C/C#, SQL/MySQL, Python, and/or LabVIEW. Experience in PCB design and layout using software such as Altium or Autodesk Eagle is beneficial. Knowledge of computer-aided design tools like SolidWorks or ProEngineer is also valuable.

General understanding of fabrication processes, welding, materials, and the ability to interpret technical specifications and documentation are essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are expected, along with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
