Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Estimator to join our team at J & J Worldwide Services. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the project/program and its requirements, including financial and project management principles.
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates, utilizing research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
  • Gather first-hand information from various sources, including sites, warehouses, and other venues.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other relevant factors.
  • Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to create detailed reports.
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors, performing risk analysis as needed.
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
  • Provide consultation on planning, including schedules and manpower needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or similar position, with a strong background in financial and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
  • Exquisite math and IT ability, with an analytical mindset and proficiency in relevant software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, with a strong focus on building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Thoroughness and reliability, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or a relevant discipline, with a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification being an asset.

Working Conditions

  • May be required to wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety footwear, safety glasses, gloves, or other PPE.
  • May be required to lift objects up to 70 pounds.
  • May be exposed to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable.
  • May involve minor safety hazards where the likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
