Job Summary

As a Technical Project Manager at Technology Support Services - Central Office, you will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading Technology Division projects from ideation to completion. This role involves creating, organizing, executing, and completing specific projects, interacting with internal and external stakeholders, setting deadlines, communicating project status, ensuring projects stay on track and on budget, and managing multiple project parts simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining project scope and goals, and develop full-scale project plans, including long and short-term targets for milestones.
  • Assign resources and direct workflow among staff members to ensure efficient and timely completion of work.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff, delegate tasks, ensure completion of tasks on time, and provide direction and support to the project team.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines, adjust schedules and targets as needed, track project performance, and analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage potential risks of projects, and monitor and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Contribute to the overall maturation of the project management capabilities within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information systems, business, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Five years of demonstrated project management experience, preferably in a public school environment.
  • Three years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with administrative, instructional, and technical personnel of all levels of technological expertise.
  • Excellent project management skills, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications, such as Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Hold or be eligible for Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification issued by Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Hold or be eligible for Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence.
