Chief Dosimetrist Job Description

At Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, we are seeking a highly skilled Chief Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality radiation therapy to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement treatment plans using advanced computer software and manual calculations to deliver precise radiation doses while minimizing exposure to critical structures.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists to contour normal and dose-limiting structures using various imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, and PET.
  • Supervise and perform simulations and tumor localization using advanced imaging devices, ensuring accurate patient positioning and treatment delivery.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and precision of treatment plans and radiation oncology equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to radiation therapists and other team members to ensure seamless treatment delivery.
  • Participate in clinical research and development of new techniques and technologies to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) and current licensure in the state of Florida as RT(T) is preferred.
  • Masters Degree in Medical Dosimetry from a JCERT accredited dosimetry program.
  • Three years of clinical medical dosimetry experience preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of simulation and treatment experience as a Registered Technologist in Radiation Therapy (RT(T) is preferred.
