Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide respiratory therapy services to patients throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and diagnostic tests for patients with, or at risk of, abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to develop optimal cardiopulmonary care plans for patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy, and determine which respiratory care activities can be delegated to other care team members.
  • Instruct employees and students in the principles and practices of designated respiratory care procedures/tasks and evaluate their competence.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
