Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and directing the activities of the production department within the Houston facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide a team of operators to meet production objectives efficiently.
  • Evaluate team performance, providing essential coaching and constructive feedback to foster positive workplace behavior and growth.
  • Establish and execute operational systems to ensure effective, reliable, and economical production processes. This includes, but is not limited to: Operator and Production Scheduling, Overtime Management, Continuous Improvement initiatives, Production Reporting, Inventory Control, and Visual Management techniques.
  • Oversee the Health and Safety protocols during assigned shifts, ensuring that any unsafe conditions or behaviors are promptly addressed.
  • Monitor cleanliness and safety standards, responding appropriately to any issues.
  • Assist in developing quality management systems and ensure product quality during shifts.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team, including conducting shift start meetings.
  • Manage all shipping and inventory activities during shifts, ensuring timely and customer-focused operations.
  • Organize and participate in team and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production methodologies, quality assurance practices, and supply chain logistics.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring personnel.
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Proficient in relevant software tools for data analysis, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining workplace safety and adhering to regulatory standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience managing a team of 7-8 individuals is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills are required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working on a manufacturing floor is necessary.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on production and safety.
  • Stable work history with no less than 1 year in previous roles.
  • Outstanding communication abilities are a must.

Educational Background:

  • Associate degree in operations management, engineering, or a related discipline is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Work Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
