Northrop Grumman, a leader in cutting-edge systems, seeks an experienced Avionics Systems Architect to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative flight deck solutions for advanced military aircraft.

About the Role:

  • Lead the development of functional architectures and analyze performance to ensure seamless integration of piloted aircraft display and processing components.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design, develop, build, and integrate COTS / MIL-COTS hardware functional designs and performance analyses.
  • Conduct trade studies, document subsystem architectures, and evaluate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings.
  • Demonstrate expertise in system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, and interface control documentation.
  • Utilize model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools to capture requirements, interfaces, behaviors, structures, and parametrics.

About You:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university, along with 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university, along with 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D., along with 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • The ability to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
  • Experience with design, development, and integration of flight deck equipment, including avionics systems such as Flight Management Systems (FMS), Primary Flight Displays (PFDs), Control Display Units (CDUs), and Terrain Avoidance and Warning Systems (TAWS).

Salary Range: $147,700 - $221,500
