About the DME Technician Role

As a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Technician at Ohio's Hospice, you will play a vital role in delivering and setting up medical equipment in patient homes and facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that patients receive the necessary equipment to maintain their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and assemble medical equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform safety checks on equipment to guarantee safe operation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  • Load and unload equipment safely to prevent damage or injury.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of DME services.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and educate patients on equipment usage.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Manage DME equipment by reviewing and ensuring correct servicing and performing safety checks.
  • Provide necessary documentation on equipment provided to patients.
  • Maintain oxygen cylinder tracking logs.
  • Assist in other activities and departments as needed.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to support the quality of Ohio's Hospice services.
  • Precept new staff to support professional relationships with newly hired team members as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure patients and families receive the care they need.
