Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our team at Gigi's Wine Lounge. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the hospitality industry, with a focus on achieving operational and financial goals. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all critical aspects of business operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and supporting the team in maintaining operational efficiency and financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Operations & Financial Management
  • Oversee and manage critical aspects of the business, including on-site operations, inventory management, revenue and expenses, and marketing and wine selection input to support our focused beverage program.
  • Manage and develop retail and online operations, including the wine club, to drive sales and enhance customer loyalty.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization, using data-driven insights to support business goals.
  • Team Management & Development
  • Manage staff schedules, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Hire quality staff and ensure adequate training, testing, and certification, supporting a harassment-free, positive work environment.
  • Lead the team in delivering a consistent, simple-to-execute guest service experience, holding that standard for the benefit of both staff and guests.
  • Guest Experience & Service Standards
  • Provide monthly input on strategies to enhance the guest experience in all aspects of service.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure all staff are properly trained in Gigi's culinary program and maintain high service standards.
  • Enforce food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety and uphold Gigi's reputation for quality and excellence.
  • Vendor & Supplier Relations
  • Maintain positive, professional, and organized relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other business partners.
  • Manage procurement and expediting goods, ensuring solid record-keeping and alignment with Gigi's quality standards.
  • Marketing & Competitive Analysis
  • Assist with marketing activities and competitive analysis to maintain a strong market position and attract a diverse clientele.
  • Support the development of strategies to promote Gigi's offerings, engage with the community, and enhance brand presence.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure the facility's safe operation, addressing any safety or security concerns as necessary.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements to provide a safe environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a leadership role within the hospitality or food and beverage industry, focusing on achieving operational and financial goals.
  • Proven ability to utilize systems and KPIs to support team performance and business success.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and supportive approach to leadership.
  • An organized and adaptable mindset, capable of navigating a dynamic work environment.
  • Minimum Level 1 Sommelier Certification is preferred but not required.
