Position Overview

Under minimal supervision and in accordance with established protocols, this role involves the coordination of both administrative and clinical functions within an outpatient center. The position emphasizes personalized patient care and the orchestration of treatments alongside ancillary departments. In partnership with leadership, the coordinator will devise and execute plans, policies, procedures, and budgets aimed at delivering effective and efficient outpatient services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and assigns patient care duties and administrative tasks to nursing and support staff as necessary, ensuring follow-up on delegated responsibilities to meet expected outcomes.
  • Conducts and documents comprehensive patient assessments in collaboration with relevant healthcare professionals, compiling detailed patient health histories.
  • Identifies discharge planning needs and provides patient education, adjusting plans as required based on patient interactions.
  • Delivers tailored patient care in accordance with established plans, documenting care provided and outcomes observed. Collaborates with ancillary departments involved in the patient care continuum to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administers medications in compliance with established policies and procedures, monitoring lab values for therapeutic ranges and potential drug interactions or toxicities.
  • Responsible for scheduling, training, evaluating, and assigning work to subordinate personnel, as well as recommending disciplinary actions when necessary. Ensures adequate staffing coverage to meet outpatient visit demands and initiates staffing replacement processes as needed.
  • Collaborates with leadership in budget development and management, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, processing purchase orders, and conducting statistical analyses related to budgetary performance.
  • Formulates, recommends, and enforces policies and procedures for the assigned center.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of center-based Quality Assurance/Continuous Improvement (QA/CI) initiatives, actively participating in divisional QA/CI programs.
  • Acts as a clinical resource, evaluating new equipment and procedures, providing staff education, and facilitating problem-solving. Supplies information and resources to patients and staff to address individual needs.
  • Serves as a role model to promote clinical competence and foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in a relevant nursing specialty; leadership experience is preferred.
  • Completion of NST Testing is preferred.
