Citadel Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled Check Processing Coordinator to join our team. As a Check Processing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the daily operations of check processing and payment processing for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming checks, outgoing deposits, and outgoing returns, as well as returned deposited checks and foreign check processing with the Federal Reserve.
  • Post weekly manual payroll deposits and manage the daily flow of work associated with the posting of all incoming deposits/payments via the US mail.
  • Work with internal resources and third-party vendors to resolve software issues and ensure the smooth operation of check processing systems.
  • Review and process online Deluxe check order alerts, verify check copies are transmitted to digital storage, and maintain working knowledge of check regulations and endorsements through the Federal Reserve.
  • Complete check research requests, charge fees accordingly, and maintain General Ledgers associated with all check processing to ensure clean accounting.
  • Process returned deposited items and check adjustments within the third-party processing system and core processing system.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the internal archive system, ensure end of day balancing for all payments received in Corporate Headquarters, and process weekly manual payroll requests.
  • Ensure all checks received from retail offices are secure and destroyed on a rotating schedule, and complete end of day wire verification.
  • Assist in educating Payment Support employees in making decisions that are in the best interest of Citadel and our customers, and provide Citadel Class Service (Accuracy, Value, Respect, and Convenience).
Requirements
  • One year of work experience in a high production check processing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
