Position Summary

The Service Team at Morris & Associates is dedicated to supporting our clients in diverse settings, including meat processing facilities, ice production plants, seafood ports, and nuclear power stations. The role of a Field Service Technician III requires a formal technical education and 5-7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The technician will be responsible for installing, servicing, and executing complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems. This role also involves providing technical guidance to junior field service representatives regarding equipment installation, operation, maintenance, and repair at client sites. Technicians will respond to urgent repair requests and may work remotely, from a home office, or directly at client locations to deliver consistent technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrate expertise in three-phase motor control systems.
  • Conduct refrigeration maintenance and troubleshooting, including ammonia systems.
  • Exhibit welding skills in stainless steel and aluminum; pressure vessel certification is advantageous.
  • Diagnose electrical and PLC control systems effectively.
  • Safely replace mechanical and electrical components such as motors, starters, switches, solenoids, pumps, refrigeration valves, VFDs, and compressors.
  • Respond promptly to unexpected breakdowns.
  • Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction layouts.
  • Practice safe work habits consistently.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, showing enthusiasm and pride in work.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to frequent travel requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, building trust and rapport.
  • Exhibit proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Utilize computers and smartphones for field reporting.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support clients.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid travel passport post-employment.
