Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Non-Licensed Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide direct patient care, support nursing staff, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide indirect care that supports the Emergency Department mission, including participation in cost containment, development/maintenance of a positive work environment, and minimizing overtime.
  • Under the direct supervision of the RN, provide direct patient care that demonstrates our mission and values, including performing pulse oximetry, Foley catheter insertion/placement, phlebotomy, and 12-lead ECG recording.
  • Assist patients with nutrition management, elimination procedures, and mobility, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Participate in admission, transport, and discharge of patients, and assist with physical exams and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of High School
  • CNA program must be completed within past 2 years, prior to 2 years completion must need CNA certification
  • Minimum of one year of acute care or hospital experience

  • Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker
  • Interaction with a wide variety of people
