Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Specialist IV to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our Environmental Hazards Branch, you will be responsible for conducting complex environmental inspections, investigations, and training programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct highly complex compliance inspections and investigations related to Hazard Communication, AHERA, Environmental Lead Abatement, and Asbestos in New Construction.
Review and evaluate inspection reports, asbestos management plans, and other technical documents.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to the regulated community and the public on environmental and public health laws and regulations.
Plan and coordinate on-the-job training for new inspectors and provide mentorship and technical support.
Serve as a technical expert and respond to legislative enquiries, questions, and concerns from the media and the public.
Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and other materials as needed.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in environmental inspection, investigation, and training.
Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
