Job Description

Uncommon Schools is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our innovation efforts, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our Home Office, Regions, and Schools have the technology solutions required to achieve our strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data-driven dashboard/analytics design, development, and implementation, as well as experience with Tableau, Superset, or similar visualization software. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing creative advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Synthesize and translate instructional and business data needs into creative visualizations and tools.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage creative advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
  • Create detailed, interactive reports, intuitive visualizations, and dashboards that provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Perform and document data analysis, data validation, data mapping/design, by accessing multiple sources, specifically data residing in source systems.
  • Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for centralized data warehouse.
  • Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent subject preferred.
  • 5-6 years of professional experience.
  • 3+ years of IT or Data experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Business Intelligence field and expertise in data-driven dashboard/analytics design, development, and implementation.
  • Coding in R, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience with Tableau, Superset, or similar visualization software.
  • Experience with DBT or similar data modeling platform.
  • Previous experience in K-12 public education preferred.
