The selected candidate will provide crucial technical and IT support across various station operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing production apparatus, including robotic camera systems, production switchers, playout servers, graphics equipment, lighting setups, weather technology, audio mixing consoles, and other production-related devices.
  • Managing news-gathering tools such as ENG cameras, field equipment, ENG, DSNG, and SNG vehicles, along with editing systems and ancillary devices.
  • Maintaining IT infrastructure and associated hardware/software, ensuring robust support for both infrastructure and end users.
  • Supervising transmitter locations, microwave reception sites, satellite dish systems, signal routing and distribution networks, processing equipment, monitoring tools, and automation frameworks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient troubleshooting abilities, capable of planning and executing equipment installations, conducting research/design, and maintaining thorough documentation of tasks.
  • Familiarity with desktop and server operating systems.
  • Experience in networking support for various LAN/WAN devices and systems.
  • Understanding of video production and television technologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A positive mindset with a focus on effective problem resolution.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various work shifts and schedules.
  • Competence in following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical capability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs., including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel to remote transmitter and microwave locations.

Educational Background:

  • An Associate's Degree in Electronic/IT Technology or equivalent experience from an accredited technical electronics/IT institution (including military training).
  • Relevant work experience in a Television/Video/IT setting will also be considered.
  • Certifications such as SBE/SMPTE/IT are advantageous.
  • Military training from the Defense Information School (DINFOS) will be taken into account.
  • A combination of related experience and education will be evaluated.
