Job Summary
Albany Medical Center is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse to serve as a Stroke Coordinator. This role involves establishing relationships with physicians, professionals, and other health-related groups within the community.

Responsibilities
The Stroke Coordinator will collaborate with stroke/neuro-endovascular physicians, unit staff, and other team members to perform oversight of the stroke program. They will coordinate interdepartmental process development and/or improvements that impact the Stroke Program, including ED, Nursing Unit, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, VIR, Neurosurgery, and others.

This individual will assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of all AMC policies, procedures, orders sets, plans of care, teaching materials, and documentation related to the Stroke Program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as the Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the American Heart Association.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have a current license in New York State, a Bachelor's degree, and 5-7 years of clinical experience in neuroscience nursing. You should also possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrated clinical competence and knowledge in the specialty area.
