Job Overview

GridStor is a leading developer, owner, and operator of grid-scale energy storage solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Trader to join our team in Portland, OR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute trading strategies to optimize GridStor's battery energy storage system (BESS) assets in ERCOT.
  • Analyze market fundamentals, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Origination, Analytics, and Risk teams to evaluate complex transactions and ensure that risks and benefits are appropriately identified and priced.
  • Develop and maintain optimization and analysis tools required for effective trading.
  • Collaborate with Asset management and Engineering teams to coordinate asset maintenance schedules and submit outage tickets as needed.
  • Assist in risk management to align trading strategies with overall company risk policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in trading ISO products with an emphasis on ERCOT.
  • In-depth knowledge of power market fundamentals, with expert understanding of physical energy and ancillary markets.
  • Experience with CAISO market is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of gas infrastructure is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Strong team player with ability to take initiative and work independently.
