Youth Care Advocate

The Youth Care Advocate is a part-time position at the Old Colony YMCA, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and residents. This role requires a strong commitment to the character development core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement security procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual.
- Supervise and monitor residents in all activities of the program.
- Implement and supervise recreational activities.
- Conduct proper intake procedures and termination of residents.
- Keep accurate logs and records.
- Maintain YMCA and DYS policies and procedures.
- Supervise and assist in meal distribution.
- Attend all scheduled full staff meetings and trainings.
- Intervene to prevent a crisis situation according to the Behavior Management Policy.
- Work as part of a team with co-workers.
- Report any suspected child abuse to the Shift Supervisor or Assistant Director.
- Follow dress code policy.
- Complete resident monthly reports competently and on time.
- Maintain work schedule as directed.
- Assume PIC responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure all fiscal policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High School education; related work experience.
- Possess the ability to meet the physical needs of the program, including restraining juveniles up to approximately 200 pounds.
