Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Home Health Aide to join our team at Interim HealthCare - Charlotte, NC. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting and elimination, and adequate nutritional intake.
  • Assist with Ambulation and Transfers: Safely assist patients with walking, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
  • Assist with Incidental and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living: Help patients with shopping, meal preparation, socialization activities, homemaking, and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment.
  • Medication Reminding and Administration: Assist patients with medication reminders and administration of self-administered medications.
  • Infection Prevention and Control: Utilize universal precautions, hand washing, and personal protective equipment to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient observations, activities, and services provided, and effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and agency staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Six months of experience in healthcare or completion of our preceptor program.
  • Certifications and Training: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of North Carolina. Completion of a specific aide training and competency evaluation program as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and functions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Travel and Physical Effort: Constant travel within the geographic area serviced by our office. Medium physical activity requiring frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to Communicable Diseases: Occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other potentially infectious or hazardous materials.
