Referrals Coordinator Job Description

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Referrals Coordinator to join our Outpatient Wellness Clinic team. As a Referrals Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient access to our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and review referrals and requests for new patients at the OWC.
  • Outreach new patients and their families/representatives to discuss recommended services, gather demographic and insurance information, obtain necessary clinical information, explain OWC processes and procedures, and schedule patient for intake as appropriate.
  • Obtain necessary insurance authorizations for new OWC patients.
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with colleagues and referral partners to close the loop on new patient requests and referrals.
  • Serve as back-up coverage as needed for OWC front desk team.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • 6+ months of professional experience in a healthcare setting required; behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish - preferred.
Work Schedule:

OWC operating hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-3:00pm. This position would be full-time, 40 hours within our operating hours. Exact schedule to be discussed with candidates.
