Pediatric Care Nurse

OVERVIEW


Exhibit expertise in executing the core elements of nursing practice, delivering prescribed medical care to patients who are ill, recovering, or have disabilities in various environments, including private residences and educational institutions.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE


Completion of a nursing program from an accredited two or four-year institution; or one to two years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.


REQUIREMENTS
To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Home Health Agencies, pediatric care, or service coordination for children with special needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate effectively, manage both new and existing knowledge, oversee and mentor LPN staff, and utilize decision-making skills.
  • Deliver care to assigned home health clients, which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Comprehensive nursing evaluations: initial assessments, vital signs, and continuous patient monitoring.
  • Assistance with daily living activities: bathing, toileting, lifting, and transferring.
  • Nutritional assistance: oral feedings, gastrostomy tube care, and maintenance of aspiration precautions.
  • Respiratory care: administering nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, pulse oximetry, oxygen therapy, and ventilator management.
  • Implement safety protocols: maintaining universal precautions, fall prevention, and seizure precautions.
  • Promote growth and development: provide stimulation through verbal, visual, and tactile means, conduct range of motion exercises, and assist with physical therapies.
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation of all care activities and assessment findings.
  • Ensure timely progress reports are communicated to office personnel and/or physicians regarding any changes in patient conditions or deviations from the care plan.
  • Maintain overall accountability for the care provided to each patient.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Valid Florida Driver's License

Current Florida RN License

CPR/AED Certification

Proficient manual dexterity is required for operating common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).

There may also be occasional requirements to position oneself to maintain equipment, including under desks, as well as the ability to navigate around the office and common areas.
