Faculty Position in Human Anatomy and Physiology

The University of Saint Mary is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. As a Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our human anatomy and physiology courses, as well as contributing to the development of our curriculum and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Mentoring: Teach and develop curriculum for human anatomy and physiology courses, including lecture and laboratory components.
- Curriculum Development: Evaluate and revise curricula, course content, and teaching methods to ensure high-quality and relevant programs of study in biology and health sciences.
- Service and Scholarship: Participate in service and scholarship activities, including attending faculty meetings, committee meetings, and university events.
- Advising and Student Support: Provide comprehensive advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career guidance.
- Lab Coordination: Assist the Human Anatomy Lab Coordinator with procurement and preparation of anatomical donors, as well as develop programming within the Human Anatomy Laboratory.
- A Master of Science degree in biology or a closely related discipline is required. Ph.D. or all but dissertation is preferred.
- Ability to teach and work in person at the main campus of the University of Saint Mary.
- Prior college-level teaching experience preferred.
- Prior experience working with anatomical donors is preferred but not required.
- Ability to maintain a stationary position for extended periods of time during dissections.
- Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 25 pounds and occasionally lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office products.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Affinity with the overall mission and core values of the University of Saint Mary.
