The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the physical structures within the agricultural facilities, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance on agricultural machinery.
- Accurately identify and document parts necessary for projects aimed at enhancing and maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair potable water and ventilation systems, along with their components across the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair various farm equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as piping systems and general facility maintenance.
- Perform general mechanical tasks, including installation, fabrication, and repairs.
- Adhere to all farm policies and procedures during work execution.
- Follow established guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures for the facility.
- Comply with all safety regulations and policies, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Receive and act on written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisors.
- Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical systems within buildings, including replacing worn or defective components.
- Manage parts inventory effectively.
- Repair or replace building materials such as brick, stone, and concrete.
- Assist other departments with the relocation of furniture, supplies, and machinery.
- Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulations regarding restricted items.
- Be available for occasional weekend and on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical or maintenance experience.
- An Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills, including the ability to repair gearboxes and bearings.
- Knowledge of AC/DC controls and electrical power systems.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
- Experience in fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills are essential.
- Proficient computer skills and customer service abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, fostering respectful and positive working relationships.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The characteristics of the work environment and physical demands for this position include:
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, including gripping and handling materials.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
- Ability to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Occasional lifting or moving of items weighing up to seventy-five pounds, with regular lifting of up to fifty pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
