Job Overview

Position: SLC Aide Substitute

Role Summary:

The part-time SLC Aide will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of the school cafeteria during lunch periods. This position requires an individual who is dependable, timely, and eager to collaborate with fellow staff members to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for students.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Middle School Principal.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED).

Experience:

While prior experience in a similar capacity is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Essential Requirements:

  • Availability to work from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adherence to school policies and procedures
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Effective time management skills

Transportation:

Reliable transportation is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up the cafeteria for lunch service
  • Assist students with their needs, such as providing napkins, straws, and utensils
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria during and after lunch
  • Perform light cleaning tasks, including mopping and wiping tables as students are dismissed
  • Report any concerns or issues to school administration or cafeteria management
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required
  • Supervise students during lunch detention

Classification: Non-Exempt
