Position Title:
Craft Supervisor
Position Summary:
Oversee and direct the maintenance workforce to guarantee that tasks are executed in accordance with industry benchmarks. Strategically plan and coordinate the activities of team members, inspiring them to complete their work safely, accurately, and efficiently. Collaborate with or supervise other trades as necessary based on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Interpret and comprehend technical drawings and specifications.
- Develop a thorough understanding of contract plans and specifications related to assigned tasks.
- Assess field conditions, identifying issues, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving opportunities, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Review the work of subordinates for adherence to contract specifications, addressing deficiencies and providing necessary guidance.
- Actively listen to team members, ensuring understanding and engagement in discussions.
- Employ logical reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions and approaches to challenges.
- Monitor the operation of installed systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments or replacements.
- Recognize safety risks for yourself and others, taking appropriate actions to mitigate or eliminate these hazards.
- Be capable of performing all essential functions of craft personnel under your supervision, planning tasks to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Implement lockout/tagout procedures effectively and safely.
- Deliver high-quality work that meets the requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Exhibit motivation and productivity in all tasks.
- Carry out additional job-related responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Demonstrated ability to set high standards in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for team members.
- Experience in welding and fabrication is essential.
- Familiarity with insulation processes is required.
Physical and Job Site Requirements:
- Ability to complete hiring documentation electronically.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Possess the strength and stamina necessary to perform the technical duties outlined above.
- Ability to navigate confined spaces and uneven terrain.
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
- Ability to hear and respond to verbal commands and alerts from colleagues and equipment.
- Visual acuity and depth perception suitable for working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
- Safety footwear is mandatory.
