Phlebotomy Specialist

This is a contract-to-hire position with potential for permanent employment. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced laboratory setting, assisting in various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed (required in some states).
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of experience.
