Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mount Hood Medical Center campus. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing, point of care testing, phlebotomy, and other quality controls to ensure accurate results.
  • Administer medications as directed by physician/nurse practitioner, maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Assist physician/nurse practitioner with exams and procedures, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Accurately document medical information in patient records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicate test results with patients, ensuring clear understanding and follow-up care.
  • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring timely restocking and organization.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior, adhering to established standards and expectations.
  • Exercise timely, concise, and appropriate use of telephone to meet needs of external and internal customers.
  • Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health record proficiently, conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.
  • Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely completion and follow-up.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a back office medical assistant in a clinic setting, with one year of experience preferred.
  • Completion of a medical assistant program, or equivalent experience, or completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
  • Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required.
  • MA certification required within one year of hire, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
