Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Gpac. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a critical role in evaluating the cost of mechanical systems in projects and evaluating the cost and schedule required to perform a project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Mechanical Bid Process: Oversee the mechanical bid process, including general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel.
  • Cost Comparison and Analysis: Perform cost comparison and analysis to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Trade Contractor Management: Recruit and maintain relationships with quality reliable trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Estimate Cost of Mechanical Plans: Estimate the cost of all mechanical plans, including accurate quantity take-offs.
  • Schedule Development: Develop schedules and task durations for projects.
  • Cost-Saving Techniques: Identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures to optimize project costs.
  • Plan Change Management: Monitor plan changes and estimate prices of all changes.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractor solicitations as needed and experience drafting subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Contract Drawing and Specification Understanding: Ability to read and understand Contract Drawings and Specifications.
  • Competitive Advantage Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid the bidding process.
  • Submittal Creation and Coordination: Assist with creating submittals and coordinate with project managers during the pre-construction phase.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends if needed.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans.
