Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Mechanic - Electrical to join our team at Quinnipiac University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on our buildings and property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and control equipment.
  • Connect power to lighting and equipment using necessary tools and devices.
  • Install control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breakers.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with state and local electrical codes.
  • Perform skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, and control systems, pumps, generators, life safety systems, motorized equipment, outdoor lighting, and kitchen equipment.
  • May drive trucks and perform related skilled work as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform highly skilled electrical work.
  • A State of Connecticut Electrician, Journeyman, or Contractors E1 or E2 license is required.
  • The Employer shall provide release time for all re-certifications of licensed personnel and shall pay all costs associated with such re-certifications.
  • This position requires a successful completion of a Physical Demands exam as well as a pre-employment physical, drug screening test, and background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

This position is a union position with a 90-day probationary hourly rate of $37.79, post-probationary hourly rate is $38.90. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00, with the possibility of night and weekend work.
