Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Intelligence and National Security Alliance. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of tumor immunology, with a focus on developing in vivo preclinical models for hypothesis testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research plans to investigate immune-based regulatory mechanisms in breast cancer.
  • Acquire and analyze microscopy images using advanced imaging techniques, including dark field, confocal, fluorescence, and multi-spectral microscopy.
  • Design and perform experiments to identify and manipulate genes and cellular behavior or function in mouse models of breast cancer.
  • Interact with clinical colleagues to test hypotheses from preclinical studies in clinical trial specimens.
  • Provide training and guidance to other investigators, mentor students and postdoctoral scholars, and supervise lab technicians.
  • Write research proposals and assist in proposal writing to obtain project funding.
  • Interact with external collaborators to advance immune-oncology projects.
  • Attend and present technical status reports, give oral and poster presentations, and prepare results for publication.
Requirements
  • PhD in a related scientific field, with a focus on tumor immunology.
  • Minimum 5 years of postdoctoral experience in related research area.
  • Proven experience in in vivo preclinical studies, histopathology, immunology, oncogenomics, and quantitative digital imaging.
  • Background in using mouse models and tissue samples for molecular, cell biology, and immunologic techniques.
  • Experience with omic datasets and R for analysis and interpretation of results.
