Education Program Consultant

Join the State of Iowa in creating excellence in education through leadership and service. As an Education Program Consultant, you will be an integral member of the Bureau of School Improvement, working collaboratively with other Department staff to provide service to CSI schools.
Responsibilities:- Serve as a member of the school improvement team serving ESSA identified extended comprehensive and comprehensive school.
- Work in collaboration with other Department staff to provide service to CSI schools.
- Serve as a member of the site visit team for CSI schools.
- Provide ongoing support for implementation, including but not limited to, observations of classrooms, coaching, modeling, attendance at leadership meetings, support in development of professional development, data analysis, problem-solving, and technical assistance as schools implement and monitor their action plans.
- On-site visits weekly to each assigned school.
- Passion for pursuing common goals in pursuit of public service.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices.
- Knowledge of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including developed interpersonal skills.
- Strategic and analytical mindset.
- Experience in large-scale project implementation.
- Experience in developing and delivering professional learning.
- Experience in leading and/or support ESSA CSI and/or TSI school(s).

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and five years of full-time post-graduate work experience in any one or a combination of the following areas:
- A combination of a total of five years of post-graduate education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited post-graduate college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree, possession of a valid Iowa Teaching Certificate, and three academic years of teaching and/or administrative experience in PK-12 and/or a post-secondary educational institution.
- Possession of a School Business Official Authorization from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners and seven years of full-time professional experience in finance, accounting, or auditing, including the preparation or analysis of financial statements.
