Our Advanced Practice Providers collaborate with Medical Technicians to deliver comprehensive healthcare services, addressing a wide range of injuries and illnesses through thorough health evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for patients across all age groups.
Our unique approach enables us to provide effective care directly in patients' homes, including on-site laboratory tests, minor surgical procedures, wound management, and IV therapy.
We prioritize holistic care by ensuring timely follow-ups and coordinated care for our patients.
Your Responsibilities:
Function as a key member of a clinical care team alongside a Medical Technician, as well as independently when necessary, to provide in-home care through our innovative service lines (e.g., Acute Care, Bridge Care, Advanced Care, Tele-presentation, etc.).
This role requires traveling to various locations using a company vehicle.
Conduct comprehensive health assessments, diagnose and manage complex health conditions. Implement therapeutic interventions, including splinting, suturing, wound care, and other minor procedures. Utilize critical thinking and adhere to evidence-based practices. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and ensure precision in all records. Analyze diagnostic data to formulate treatment plans and arrange necessary follow-ups to guarantee continuity of care. Educate patients and their families on managing acute illnesses and promoting overall health.
Engage in sensitive discussions regarding end-of-life care and treatment goals. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, medical power of attorney, primary care providers, and all parties involved in patient care.
Proactively identify and resolve issues. Comply with clinical safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics. Deliver care with compassion, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Foster positive relationships with Medical Technician partners and remote teams. Participate in training sessions and clinical meetings. Uphold professional standards and represent DispatchHealth positively. Lead your practice by prioritizing patient welfare.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Cardiology, Pulmonology, or related fields. Graduate from an accredited advanced degree program. Hold a current, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Current registration in the state as an Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is preferred. Nationally board certified and up-to-date. Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Possess prescriptive authority and DEA registration. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Capability to navigate multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
