Job Title: Electrical Engineer 6 (Medium/Low Voltage)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 6 to join our team in New York - Latham. As an Electrical Engineer 6, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, including power systems, protection, and generation models. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power systems, protection, and generation models
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements
  • Review and sign off on completed designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other similar calculations
  • Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs
  • Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications
  • Update design requirements as necessary
  • Contribute to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs)
  • Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices
  • Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs
  • Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff
  • Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm
  • May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline
  • Professional engineering (PE) license
  • 10 years of related experience
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required
