Position Overview and Responsibilities
As a Lead Structural Engineering Supervisor at STSI, you will oversee and guide a team to ensure projects are completed efficiently, adhering to budgetary constraints and relevant codes/standards. The Supervisor will implement corporate policies as necessary, formulate and execute long-term employee development strategies, and provide both technical and managerial guidance. You will assist team members in addressing intricate challenges through innovative solutions, sharing insights from past experiences, and fostering best practices to enhance technical and project execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and lead team members to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with upper management to synchronize project efforts.
  • Assess departmental technical staffing requirements and work with HR to attract and interview prospective candidates.
  • Guide and cultivate team members utilizing best practices, supportive behaviors, and educational resources.
  • Engage in project planning, cost estimation, management, and scheduling for assigned initiatives.
  • Employ company protocols to conduct quality assessments and reviews of all projects.
  • Ensure quality and precision standards are met, reviewing and approving completed technical outputs.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and devise solutions for complex or unique projects.
  • Facilitate peer reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client, industry, and company standards.
  • Utilize scheduling and earned value tools to maintain predictable forecasting and ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Build client relationships by delivering valuable technical and managerial insights.
  • May take on roles such as project manager, project engineer, or client liaison for single-discipline projects.
  • Actively participate in business development initiatives to maintain team productivity.
  • Provide assistance and input for client proposals and presentations.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience in structural and foundation design for metals, midstream oil/gas, or other heavy industrial facilities, including structural steel and concrete design for buildings, cranes, and ancillary structures.
  • Proficient in Navisworks.
  • Licensed as a Structural Engineer with the capability to register in additional states as required.
  • Expertise in STAAD, TEDDS, or equivalent analysis software.
  • Previous management experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to multitask and organize projects efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
