You will collaborate closely with survivors, guiding them through the complexities of legal and social service frameworks, addressing fundamental needs such as housing, transportation, and food, while also offering emotional support and connecting them with vital resources for their ongoing recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver extensive case management services to trauma survivors, encompassing safety planning, crisis intervention, and tailored service plans.
- Perform comprehensive assessments to identify survivors' immediate requirements and formulate suitable intervention strategies.
- Champion the rights and needs of survivors within legal and social service contexts.
- Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to synchronize services and ensure a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach.
- Assist survivors in obtaining essential resources and support services, including housing, legal assistance, counseling, and medical care.
- Provide emotional support and empowerment counseling to promote healing and personal development.
- Facilitate support groups and educational sessions for survivors and their families.
- Establish and nurture strong partnerships with community organizations to enhance service delivery and improve access for survivors.
- Maintain precise and confidential records of survivor interactions, progress, and outcomes.
- Engage in continuous training and professional growth to expand knowledge and skills in victim advocacy and trauma-informed care.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of victim services.
- Collaborate with program leadership to assess and improve services based on survivor feedback and program outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in victim advocacy, case management, or a similar field is preferred.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and best practices.
- Understanding of legal and social service systems and resources available for survivors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with survivors and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to provide compassionate emotional support and advocacy for survivors in a non-judgmental manner.
- Proficiency in electronic case management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Cultural sensitivity and capability to work with diverse populations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
