Your Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineer in Training to join our Community Development Group in multiple locations throughout the Midwest. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing civil and municipal engineering projects to collaborating with design teams on construction plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform civil design and technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project.
  • Perform field work/construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager.
  • Perform data analysis and calculations to analyze and design civil system components.
  • Collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
  • Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written, with project team members, clients, and contractors.
Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, flexible, innovative, organized, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. A basic understanding of general concepts of civil engineering design is required, as well as the ability and interest in working on a variety of renewables type of projects for various clients. A strong interest in community development engineering disciplines is also essential.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and successful completion of the EIT exam or the ability to take the EIT exam within six months of starting are preferred. Related Co-op/Internship experience is also preferred for new graduates, while 1-2 years of related civil engineering experience is preferred for more experienced engineers.
