We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prevention Education Coordinator to join our team at the YWCA Greater Cincinnati. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing violence prevention services, including domestic violence, stalking, dating violence, and sexual prevention education programming for our Youth Violence Prevention team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement violence prevention education programs for Hamilton County public schools, focusing on Safe Dates, Teens Against Bullying, and Coaching Boys Into Men curricula.
- Conduct outreach to high schools in Hamilton County to implement dating violence and sexual violence prevention education to students.
- Train formal project partners, parents, and community members on dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual violence.
- Build and maintain relationships with local school personnel, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Complete monthly reports to inform the Senior Director of program progress and outcomes.
- Provide oversight and support for peer-led bullying prevention initiatives in Hamilton County Schools.
- Participate in regional and state meetings to stay informed about best practices and maintain compliance with program funders.
- Attend restorative practices and other training sessions as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a human service or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in teaching youth in a school setting, with strong communication, organizational, and project planning skills.
- Sensitivity to individuals from diverse economic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experience, Trauma-Informed Care, and experience in facilitating therapeutic group services preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a favorable driving record.
This is a full-time position, requiring the ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods, with frequent sitting and light lifting of supplies and files.
