Job Summary

Mohawk Ambulance Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMS Educator to join our team as a Certified Lab Instructor. This is a full-time and part-time position that requires a strong background in emergency medical services and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Modeling: Acts as an instructor in lab sessions, teaching and modeling necessary hands-on skills to students.
  • Student Evaluation: Observes students in lab sessions to ensure each student is capable of independently completing each skill with proficiency.
  • Communication: Communicates essential information utilizing multiple methods, in order to meet each student's individual learning needs.
  • Attendance and Participation: Assists with coordinating and tracking student attendance and effectively manages student participation in each lab session.
  • Professional Development: Attends training sessions, conferences, and workshops as needed to remain knowledgeable within the Emergency Medical Services field.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • NYS CLI Certification.
    • NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification.
    • Prior experience acting as an instructor in the EMS field.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in emergency medical and life-saving techniques, practices, and procedures.
    • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Preferred:
    • American Heart Association certified CPR Instructor.
    • Proficient with using Google Classroom.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
