Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Pasco-Hernando State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in campus laboratory activities for nursing programs.

Key Responsibilities

Assist students in all scheduled nursing programs campus laboratory activities.
Prepare equipment, supplies, and physical set-up and break-down for laboratory activities with students.
Participate in review and update for laboratory activities.
Keep Associate Dean/Programs Directors advised regarding laboratory equipment and supplies needed for students.
Assist instructors in nursing programs by scheduling laboratory activities.
Conduct inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and be responsible for the quality control of inventoried items.
Assist the Associate Dean, Nursing Programs and Program Directors in identifying equipment needs, new and/or replacement.
Submit the order of laboratory supplies to the Associate Dean, Nursing Programs and Program Directors for approval.
Assist with the set-up and break-down of equipment needed for lab/clinical simulation activities.
Attend division and campus meetings as scheduled.
Schedule, post, and maintain laboratory and office hours in accordance with District Board of Trustees Rules, and as approved by the Associate Dean, Nursing Programs.
Promote a learning environment that is non-discriminatory and that provides equity for all students.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

AS Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
Advanced organizational skills.
Knowledge of laboratory skills settings.
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of students.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
Current unrestricted FL Registered Nurse license.
Satisfactory Level II Criminal History Background Check.
Current American Heart Association "Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers" CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in clinical or laboratory settings.
