About the Role

We're seeking a Product Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality products for our customers. As a Product Engineer, you'll work closely with a cross-functional team of Engineers to define and track product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), troubleshoot and diagnose device issues, and deploy corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and run data queries on fleet logs to support root cause analysis efforts
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to drive design and manufacturing changes to improve product quality
  • Define data signatures to identify failures and integrate this knowledge into algorithms to automatically detect similar failures
  • Provide support on escalated customer cases to minimize system downtime
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting on hardware failures, firmware bugs, and system integration between Tesla products
  • Validate and sign-off new products and features to ensure functionality and customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition, applied to firmware/software-enabled mechatronic systems
  • Previous technical work experience with electric vehicle charging hardware and protocols/standards
  • Strong data analysis skills, with experience using Python
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and collaborative skills
  • An ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in parallel
