The Apprentice Service Technician is a key member of our team, responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance on various brand vehicles as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform work as outlined on repair order with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, utilizing knowledge of automotive systems and technical bulletins.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is recommended, and notify the service advisor accordingly.
- Document work performed, including road-testing vehicles when required.
- Utilize the knowledge of a mentor, team leader, or shop foreman when necessary, and attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments.
- Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and well-maintained, and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful graduation from a recognized automotive technical training school.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner, and pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, and a drug test.
